Until December 2011 the Town of Bloomfield consisted of 32 square miles of unincorporated area located in southeastern Walworth County, Wisconsin. Through an incorporation process, the Village of Bloomfield was created on December 20, 2011 from unincorporated areas within the Town of Bloomfield.
The Bloomfield Police Department has eight full time employees which consists of a Chief of Police, a Sergeant, two Investigators and four patrol officers. In addition to their administrative and investigative duties, the Chief of Police, Sergeant and Investigators also perform patrol functions, answering calls for service and traffic enforcement.
Since the incorporation we continue to provide professional law enforcement services, guided by the highest ethical standards to give personalized services to all who live, work, visit and travel through both communities. Our service area has a combined population of just under 6,300 residents containing 32 square miles of land and beautiful lakes. We patrol and perform traffic enforcement of approximately 82 miles of roadway which include the major thoroughfares of Hwy H, Hwy 12, Hwy 50 and Hwy 120.
We are constantly evaluating the quality of our services and what, if any, changes or updates need to be achieved while continuing to maintain fiscal responsibility.
